He talks about the events overshadowing the ’94 Finals & the bond between Ewing & Olajuwon. Rockets assistant Carol Dawson describes an amazing moment after the Rockets won Game 7.
“I was walking out of the arena underneath the Summit and I was with Olajuwon and we were leaving,” Dawson said. “And he saw Patrick over there under the awning, and he walked over and they hugged and they talked a minute. And I thought, ‘Wow. Patrick won the big prize in the NCAA and Dream won the big prize in the NBA. I guess they’re even.’ “
