Changing Titanic’s Course
Since Astros Owner Jim Crane took over, he’s taken a lot of hits. We all know about the TV deal but wasn’t that really Drayton’s mess? We all know they’ve been the worst team in baseball his 1st 2 seasons, but again, wasn’t that Drayton’s mess? 
This past week Crane hired a hometown hero, an incredible baseball mind & a baseball legend, Nolan Ryan. He basically cleaned up Drayton’s mess, who had let him go. He also hired one of the best young minds in baseball, GM Jeff Luhnow, who again cleaned up Drayton’s mess.
The Astros farm system went from a joke to, according to most experts, the best in baseball. When Crane made a mistake with George Pistolos, he corrected it quickly with Nolan’s son Reid. When he made the promise to spend money this offseason, he actually did.
Turning the Titanic away from a head-on collision with a glacier may be easier & less wieldy than getting the Astros out of Drayton’s mess… but Crane showed us this week that by adding an Express, he’s doing it as fast as he can.
